I will schedule to attend one or two of your band's gigs and take as many cool shots as I can (digital with optical zoom, hi-res, maximum 300 photos).
Because of lighting conditions in clubs, band members' movements onstage, crowd factors, etc. it is not unusual for an entire batch of shots to come down to two or three really fine-art quality pictures for the entire night. Then again, there might be 300 awesome shots! In the event that no shots come out right, you will be refunded or not charged for the session, or you may reschedule another shoot at no additional cost.
Occasionally I will discover early in the event that, for whatever factor or combination, I'm not likely to get any decent shots. If that is the case, I will let you know early in the event that the session isn't working so I can credit or refund your money and agree to reschedule you for a future gig.
I do not believe the repeated use of flash gives better pictures in most dark clubs, and it is often distracting for bands and audiences, so if I cannot utilize the stage lighting to good effect, I probably won't be satisfied with your photographs.
Because of the subjective nature of photography and art, rescheduling at no cost is the best and most fair way I can think of to make sure you are 100% stoked about your photographs and thrilled with your decision to purchase my services.
One of the most distinctive characteristics of my work is that the shots don't often look "staged." I will ask from time-to-time for a spotlight to be tweaked (between sets) but I will not ask you to move microphones, change the position of your amps, stop dancing and hold still, or affect any unnatural poses onstage. I prefer to remain as unobtrusive as I can when you're playing, because it allows me to get those "shots of a lifetime" that capture the person you are deep down when the music's playing.
